Moving Forward

A journey of 1000 miles starts with a single step...........

                           ....Confucius

That first step can be critical in arriving at the final destination. Many businesses hesitate over launching out on that step for a wide variety of reasons. For some, the reason is as simple as not being quite sure which direction will best lead to their desired destination. These organisations or individuals can be assisted by a structured approach to Strategic Planning that comprehensively defines both the start point and the destination prior to determining the most appropriate journey map.

For that group whose journey has, for whatever reason, led them to the brink of disaster (and perhaps even beyond the brink), there is very rarely (prior to liquidation) a point beyond which a carefully planned and executed Disaster Recovery exercise cannot offer potential recovery options and alternatives to simply surrendering.

At the opposite end of the same spectrum, there are those who know that they have an opportunity or an idea that holds significant potential value, but, reliant on their own experience, there appears to be No Way Forward in commercialising or optimising their idea or product.

Finally, there are some groups who have a very clear vision and clarity in their view of the final destination, but, for whatever reason, are not entirely confident about their current position and situation. For this group (often Boards of Directors or independent stakeholders), an external assessment of the organisation that takes the form of a CEO Review or independent assessment can form the basis for more confident decision making in the strategic planning process.
